Dr. Roxy Barber DOM, AP, LE
Originally from New York, I have lived in South Florida since 2005. I received a Bachelors of Health Science and a Masters of Oriental Medicine from the Atlantic Institute of Oriental Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I also hold an Aesthetics license
from the Florida College of Natural Health in Miami, Florida. I have gained invaluable experience working at Spa E in South Beach and at The Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa in Fort Lauderdale.
In the year 2000, I became interested in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Due to injuries sustained from a car accident in 1995, shoulder surgery in 2004 and trauma from being a life long equestrian, I was constantly working with specialists on pain management. While working in my restaurant in Saratoga Springs, New York, I met an Acupuncture Physician by the name of Debora Kozlowski of A New Leaf.
Not long after beginning treatment, I was amazed by the results of this medicine, which was unlike any other I had encountered. For the first time, there were no side effects from drugs, no painful therapies, no increase in pain levels after treatment and no high priced medical bills. Instead, through Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine, I had decreased pain for longer periods of time, no longer needed western drugs and the side effects disappeared. As added benefits, I noticed less stress and more peaceful sleep. This “new medicine” had me completely intrigued and impressed. After selling my restaurant I started training for my medical license in Traditional Chinese Medicine. The rest is history.

My enthusiasm for holistic health is an inheritance from my mother, who raised me to understand the importance of maintaining good health through a balanced diet and lifestyle. I also grew up in Germany, where healthcare has remained very traditional and homeopathy is still utilized with a greater focus on treating the cause, instead of the symptom.
As a practitioner and constant seeker, one of my greatest discoveries has been, that the body is one holistic system and that everything is truly connected. There is cause and there is effect. Any imbalance, be it mental or physical, will affect us somehow and somewhere. In an attempt to re-establish some type of balance and move away from pain, many of us disconnect from our own bodies. I am dedicated to helping you understand what is happening within your body and guide you in the process of finding back to yourselves. I have learned that, newfound awareness can lead to self- empowerment in a client and in turn allow for holding patterns to unwind and breakthrough healing to occur.
I obtained my certification in Massage Therapy from the ‘Sedona School of Massage’, where I received training in numerous modalities and techniques, including Swedish Massage, Connective Tissue Therapy, Myofascial techniques, Neuromuscular Therapy, Trigger Point Therapy, Ortho-Bionomy®, Polarity Therapy, Shiatsu, Craniosacral Therapy, Hydrotherapy, Hot Stone Massage, Integrative Massage and Homeopathy. After the completion of my massage training, I took additional courses in Ortho-Bionomy® and continued on to become Ortho- and Sports massage certified at the ‘Boulder College of Massage Therapy’ in Boulder, Colorado. It was there, that I learned amazing techniques to treat injuries, work with athletes and assist in the healing of trauma.
I appreciate the importance to meet every client at their own level and I am honored that my clients allow me to assist them in their processes of wellness and healing.
